DecTek currently holds several accreditations together with the adoption of many sound organizational and employee lead initiatives which are responsible for maintaining standards throughout production, administration and after sales care as well as the consideration of the welfare of its workforce.


ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems

ISO 9001 is based on EIGHT core Principles and these in effect underpin the standard and define its purpose and direction. They are:

  • Customer focus
  • Leadership
  • Involvement of people
  • Process approach
  • System approach to management
  • Continual improvement
  • Factual approach to decision making
  • Mutually beneficial supplier relationships

ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and is the most widely used production and administration QMS standard in the world, with over 1.1 million certificates issued to organisations in 178 countries.

ISO 9001 provides a framework and set of principles that ensure a common-sense approach to the management of your organisation to consistently satisfy customers and other stakeholders. In simplest of terms, it provides the basis for effective processes and effective people to deliver an effective product or service on time - time after time. ISO 9001 is awarded only after the closest of scrutiny.


ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management

ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems (EMS) and the most widely used EMS in the world, with over 14,000 organisations certified in the UK and over 250,000 certificates issued worldwide. It is the principal management system standard which specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS helping to control environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance.

The standard covers issues such as the establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement of an EMS which can affect the following:

  • Improved environmental management
  • Legal compliance
  • Reduced operating costs
  • Improved stakeholder relationships
  • Proven business credentials
  • Ability to win more business

Lean Management

Lean management is an approach to running an organization that supports the concept of continuous improvement, a long-term approach to work that systematically seeks to achieve small, incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.


The 5S's through Lean Management

5S is a system to reduce waste and optimize productivity through maintaining an orderly workplace and using visual cues to achieve more consistent operational results. Implementation of this method "cleans up" and organizes the workplace basically in its existing configuration, and it is typically the first lean method which organizations implement.

The 5S's are described as:

  1. Sort (Seiri)
  2. Set in Order (Seiton)
  3. Shine (Seiso)
  4. Standardize (Seiketsu)
  5. Sustain (Shitsuke)

They provide a methodology for organizing, cleaning, developing, and sustaining a productive work environment. In the daily work of a company, routines that maintain organization and orderliness are essential to a smooth and efficient flow of activities. This lean method encourages workers to improve their working conditions and helps them to learn to reduce waste, unplanned downtime, and in-process inventory.

REACH

REACH, EC 1907/2006, is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. This legislation deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemical substances. The law entered into force on June 1, 2007. REACH obligates manufacturers to ensure specified chemical usage is registered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki, Finland. Registration includes supplying data such as chemical types and uses, volumes per annum and test data results. As of December 2013, the ECHA had identified 151 "candidate" Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). Based on our own internal analyses, vendor supplied analyses, and/or material certifications of the raw materials used in the manufacture of DecTek products, we declare that all products, and their packaging, do not contain any of these SVHCs in concentration above 0.1%.


WEEE Compliance

DecTek complies with Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the council of 27 January 2003 on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
